Asymmetrical Sterling Silver, Turquoise and Lapis Lazuli Necklace, simply put, this is a one-of-a-kind! Stand out from the crowd with this stunning asymmetrical component necklace featuring several handcrafted sterling silver links and genuine gemstones.
30" in length and adjustable with a simple sterling silver hook closure. Handcrafted sterling silver links form the necklace around the neck.
The widest component is the sterling silver southwestern cross at 1.5" wide. Two square cutouts are wrapped in sterling silver wire. Other handcrafted sterling silver links feature sterling silver dots and bars, all securely soldered in place.
The three lamp work beads (handcrafted glass) feature swirls of turquoise in an off-white base with sterling silver separators.
The large Lapis lazuli bead is primarily composed of lazurite (deep cobalt blue) with inclusions of sodalite (light blue), pyrite (gold or silver natural sparkle) and with some other minor minerals. Used for jewelry for millennia, lapis lazuli is primarily mined in Afghanistan with other locations in Russia, Pakistan, Chile. Small deposits can also be found in the US, Canada and Italy.
Genuine Turquoise nuggets from the revered Sleeping Beauty mine form another of the components. Two rows of turquoise nuggets join two textured sterling bars. Located in Globe, Arizona, the Sleeping Beauty Mine was initially mined for copper and gold but yielded highly prized bright blue turquoise with very little to no matrix.
