Shattuckite is a vibrant blue copper silicate hydroxide mineral often mixed with malachite, chrysocolla and quartz and known for its incredible range of blue shades from pale hues to cobalt to turquoise. Some use it for metaphysical healing as it is purported to enhance communication, psychic abilities and emotional balance.
Shattuckite is relatively 'soft' measuring 3.5 on the Mohs scale meaning it can scratch easily therefore we seldom use it for rings or bracelets.
First discovered in the Shattuck Mine is Bisbee, Arizona, it is now commonly sourced from Namibia and Mexico.
